Scholarships, Awards and Stipend
National Scholarship :
- Awarded on the basis of merit at the Annual H.S.C. Examination. The forms for application for this Scholarship are available with the Board of Secondary Education, Orissa. The Scholarship is renewable every year subject to achievement of good academic standard by the student.
National Loan Scholarship :
- Application can be made by the student of Higher Secondary and degree classes if they have secured not less than 50% of marks in aggregate in the last final examination. This Scholarship is renewable every year till the completion of the course subject to satisfactory progress and good conduct.
National Scholarship For Children of Primary and Secondary Teachers :
- Awarded to those securing at least 60% marks in the Annual H.S.C. Examination provided the awardees meet the requisite academic standard. Application shall have to be submitted to D.H.E through the college. This Scholarship is sponsored by the Govt. of India.
Post Matric Scholarship (For SC/ST Only) :
- As per a Central Govt. scheme the Tribal and Rural Welfare Department of Govt. of Odisha awards this Scholarship through the District Welfare Office to SC/ST students only for pursuing post matric studies.
Junior College Merit Scholarship :
- Based on the result of H.S.C. Examination Students of Higher Secondary classes are judged for the award of this scholarship.
Senior College Merit Scholarship :
- Considered on the merit of a student at the Higher Secondary Examination, this scholarship is awarded to the student of degree classes for three years.
Sanskrit Merit Scholarship :
- Based on the Sanskrit mark of H.S.C. Examination students of higher Secondary are judged for the award of Sanskrit scholarship.
National Science Talent Scholarship :
- This is awarded on the basis of a student’s performance in a competitive examination held on the first Sunday of each calendar year.
Stipend For Children of Freedom Fighters :
- This award is made to the children, adopted or step children of freedom fighters on application in the prescribed form along with a supporting certificate by M.P/M.L.A./D.M. in the approved proforma which can be had from the D.H.E., Odisha, Bhubaneswar.
Stipend For Physically Handicapped :
- Blind, deaf or orthopaedically handicapped students in the age group of 17-30 years having secured at least 40% marks in the Annual H.S.C. Examination can avail a stipend sponsored by the Social Welfare Department of an amount variable form time to time on application in a prescribed from obtainable from the office of the District Collector.
Rules for Guidance of scholarship Holders :
- 1 - Scholarship, either of the Govt. of India or of the state Govt. may be withdrawn at any point of time if the progress or conduct of the scholar is unsatisfactory.
- 2 - Absence with leave other than sick leave upto seven days one time entitles no less of scholarship for the whole period of absence.
- 3 - If the absence is protracted beyond seven days, a medical certificate to this effect must be furnished on production of the prescribed medical certificate half scholarship may be granted if the period of absence does not exceed three months. Absence for more than three months and upto six months will entail loss of scholarship for the period of absence. Continuous absence for more than six months will ordinarily entitle forfeiture of the scholarship.
- 4 - Absence from the classes due to strike or any other unlawful cause will entail the forfeiture of scholarship either central or state.
