Mahima Mahavidyalaya

Publication

  • The College publishes its magazine ‘The Bichakhyana’ annually which gets adorned with Essays, Stories, Poems etc. of the staff & students in Odia, English and Sanskrit language.
“Bichakhyana” is an imaginary but incomplete epic of Brajanatha Badajena-a great poet of the Epic Age of Odia Literature. As an embodiment of great talent the poet was born in Kabera village of Dhenkanal District in the year 1730 which is situated only five kilometers away from the College. His purpose was to complete this epic in 15 parts. But he could be able to complete only 10 parts of it before his death.
The name ‘Bichakhyana’ – (the sharp witted girl) refers to the protagonist of the original epic after whose name the magazine has been named with an inclination that our staff & students would try to adorn the pages of the magazine with original literary creations containing sharp wit. Further, in order to acquaint our students and staff with the literary creations of this great indigenous talent, the title of our magazine is named after this book. It is known to all that from among all the creations of the poet, this name ‘Bichakhyana’ is very apt and suggestive to bear the name of a magazine.
  • The College publishes its Calendar annually too which mirrors the details about the College briefly.
  • The Wall Magazine of the College is always adorned with Poems, Stories and other creative writings of the students and the staff all the time. It boasts of its existence on the entrance wall of the College Library and attracts the attention of one when s/he steps in the library.
