Mahima Mahavidyalaya, Joranda is a Premier Co-educational Institution transfusing Higher Education (Under Graduate) catering to the need of a large number of aspirant local rural youths of the Dhenkanal District of Odisha. This sacred Institution dates back its origin to the year 1978. Situated at Joranda, a cradle of world-wide Mahima Dharma and in an atmosphere filled with a sense of spiritualism and humanism beyond all social differences and barriers of castes, creeds and religions the Institution made its inception as a brain child of some native luminaries, philanthropists and a mass of enthusiastic public under the patronage of a celebrated Mahima Sanyasi Srimat Jatia Baba, the then President of Koupinidhari Mahima Samaj, Joranda.
Our History
Few words of college history
Mahima Mahavidyalaya, Joranda was the surging need of the rural based economically poor students and parents in the District of Dhenkanal aspiring for Higher Education. The Koupindhari Mahima Samaj, then Srimat Jatia Baba at its head patronised this College which was established on 01.08.1978 at Joranda, famous in and abroad as the cradle of sacred Mahima Dharma. The College got Govt. recognition and Utkal University affiliation in 1979-80. The College was elevated to a Degree College in the Year 1986-87 being affiliated to the Utkal University, Vani Vihar, Bhubaneswar. It came under Grant in Aid Fold of the government in the Year 1984. Now the College is recognized as a Degree College with +2 Arts, Science & Commerce and +3 Arts, Science & Commerce having Honours Classes.
