Examinations
A. College Examination :
- Besides CHSE and University Examination, the college conducts Monthly, Half Yearly and Annual Examination for +2 1st Year, +3 1st Year, Monthly and Test Examination for +2 2nd Year & +3 2nd & 3rd Year. Bi-monthly tests are also conducted during the academic session.
- Students violating examination rules by resorting to malpractices or to any other action that affects discipline in the examination hall will be severely punished as per the examination norms.
- Theory, Practical and Tutorial classes will continue till four weeks prior to the date of the commencement of the University / CHSE Examination. Fifty percent of the tutorial classes held in each subject should be devoted to written work. The written work of each student is to be evaluated by the Tutor and the marks awarded should be clearly written in the Tutorial Attendance register. These marks are to be subsequently entered in the Departmental register to be used for ready reference in the Staff Council meeting for Annual promotion or sending up for the University / C.H.S.E Examination. Each student should carefully maintain separate tutorial examination records for different subjects and should produce them when needed by the teachers or college Authorities.
B. CHSE Examination :
- The +2 2nd year students are to appear at the Annual Examination, conducted by the CHSE. The final application form and format are to be filled in by the sent up candidates in his/her own hand writing and submitted to CHSE through on-line. Change of centre is ordinarily not allowed. It is permissible in case of (i)transfer (ii) retirement (iii)death of parents (both father and mother) of the candidates only and that too with documentary evidence thereof, provided the subjects offered by the candidates are taught and available at the changed centre. This is also subject to procurement of no-objection from both the Heads of the Institutions.
For Instant Appearance :
- A candidate who has failed in one subject only in the HS Examination but has secured at least pass percentage of marks in aggregate is eligible to appear at an instant examination in that failed subject.
Compartmental appearance :
- A candidate who has failed in more than one subjects in the HS examination but has secured at least pass percentage marks in aggregate is eligible to appear compartmentally in those failed subjects. This privilege is however granted to such candidates for the next (immediate) two consecutive examinations only (excluding instant examination) subject to condition that a compartmental candidate has to clear all the failed subjects at a time and not piece-meal in any of the available chances.

C. University Examinations :
- +3 Arts / Science / Commerce
- There shall be three examinations for +3 students – one at the end of each year. There is provision for BACK / SPECIAL BACK appearance in all the examinations as per the guidelines framed time to time by the University for clearance or for improvement.
(i) A candidate who fails in the aggregate has to appear all papers of the examination again.
(ii) A candidate has to pass all the University examinations within six years from registration for 1st year examination.
(iii) One has to secure at least 30% marks in theory and 40% marks in practical to pass the examination form 2011 Admission Batch onwards with the required aggregate mark.
(iv) One examinee may be allowed to improve his performance in any or all papers of subject in subsequent year (s). Such improvement will not hamper Distinction if awarded in earlier attempt(s). Higher mark secured shall remain valid.
Pass : A minimum of 30% in each paper and 36% of marks in aggregate.
Pass with Distinction : A minimum of 30% in each paper and 50% in the aggregate in the first appearance.
Second class Honours : A minimum of 30% in each paper and 45% in aggregate of all Honours Subjects.
Second class Honours with Distinction : In addition to 2nd class Honours, a minimum of 50% Marks awarded in the papers, other than the Honours subjects in the first appearance.
First class Honours : A minimum of 30% in each paper and 60% marks in the aggregate of the Honours subjects.
First class Honours with Distinction : In addition to the first class Honours a minimum of 50% marks of the total awarded on paper other than the Honours paper in the first appearance.
Provided that in practical, a candidate must secure separately a minimum of 40% marks in each practical subject at the +3 Part-I, Part-II, Part-III examinations separately.
(ii) A candidate has to pass all the University examinations within six years from registration for 1st year examination.
(iii) One has to secure at least 30% marks in theory and 40% marks in practical to pass the examination form 2011 Admission Batch onwards with the required aggregate mark.

Distribution of Marks (+3 Arts, Science & Commerce) Attendance
- A student is required to attend at least 75% of general lecturers and 75% of the practical classes. Attendance will be counted separately under each head for each subject for an academic session. Attendance can be condoned up to a maximum of 10% on production of valid medical certificate to the condition given in the next paragraph.
- Students should be supported by relevant documents will not be entertained if they had not already informed the Principal in writing about it in the first day of absence. Further, they should bear in mind that application for condonation of shortage of attendance on medical ground will not be considered if during the period covered in the application their names had been struck off the college rolls for non-payment of fees or for any other reasons. No student will be promoted to the next higher class or sent up for the University / CHSE examination unless she/he secures the at least 75% of attendance in all subjects separately.
Proctorial Class System :
- The Proctorial class is to establish personal relationship amongst students and teachers. It is seen that the students, in general, feel lost in their institutions since they have nobody to fall back upon for advice or guidance. The proctor is there to provide aid and advice to the students. The proctor is required to meet his / her wards at least once every month. A proctor, who is a member of the teaching staff of the college remains in charge of a group & students. He/she shall watch from time to time the academic progress and conduct of students under his jurisdiction both inside and outside the college.
Lesson Plans & Progress :
- i) Lesson Plans are to be maintained by individual teachers which will be inspected by the Principal, Regional Director and Director, Higher Education, Odisha as and when they desire.
- ii) Departmental Daily Progress Register and common progress registers are to be maintained by each teachers, staff members regularly and the same is to be verified by the authorities. Progress Register should be maintained in each department in which the progress of the courses will be recorded by each individual teacher as per routine.
- iii) Completion of Course The progress regarding courses and completion certificate thereby is to be submitted to the Principal by all teaching staff members through their H.O.D. at least once in every month. +2 2nd year, +3 2nd year and +3 3rd Year courses are to be completed by the stipulated time frame as per rules and regulations from time to time.
